Find and clean up waste
Review waste recommendations and record cleanup plans.

Cleanup is a preview
Cleanup does not change your cloud today. It records the action and projected savings. It does not delete, stop, resize, or detach the real resource. Follow the recommendation in your cloud yourself.
Find a waste item
Open FinOps → Waste Cleanup. The summary shows Total waste items, Potential savings, Critical items, and Monthly waste cost. Use Critical only, High value, Quick wins, or This week to narrow the list. Category tabs include Idle, Unattached, Oversized, Orphaned, Stopped, and Old.
Each item shows its resource name and type, cloud, region, detection age, severity, Category, Monthly cost, Potential savings, and Issue. Click Show recommendation to read the Recommendation. Use Dismiss (1) for a resource that is fine, or Cleanup (2) to record an action.
The arrow beside Cleanup offers actions such as Delete resource, Stop resource, and Schedule for later. Resize and detach can also appear for matching categories.
Record a cleanup preview
The confirmation shows the resource, Cleanup action, and Safety checklist. For a delete, complete the checklist and type DELETE, then click Confirm delete. You can choose Schedule instead or Cancel. Other actions use their own confirmation word and button.
The recorded action appears in History; its savings remain projected. Open the recommendation and make the real change in your cloud after checking that the resource is safe to change.
Other ways to review waste
- Schedule for later records a cleanup plan for a later time. It does not change the cloud resource.
- Select items to use bulk cleanup or bulk dismiss. Bulk cleanup records previews for the selected items.
- Export can download the current waste items as CSV. History shows recorded actions, and Analytics shows waste trends and savings estimates.
